We knew it was coming … Twitter is now selling advertising.
Remember way back when Google was just getting started, and you could do these searches without seeing ads?
(or is it just me that remembers that?)
Well, Twitter has been humming along ad-free for a while.
But now you will start seeing sponsored ads.
Or in there terms, “Promoted Tweets”, that will show at the top of search results.
Currently, it is set to show 1 ad at a time.
Their advertising will roll out and expand during 2010.
So far we’re hearing about big name advertisers on board.
But we expect it to be available to “the rest of us”
