Social Media Survival May Save Many

Social media and networking has long been an interesting and quality form of connecting with others and sharing your business ideas. If you have already set up some social media accounts, such as. Twitter and Facebook, you may realize how time consuming it is to keep your friends and followers updated on your life and next business products being launched. So why is social media such a hot idea and how do these other businesses keep up with daily blogging, posting tweets and still have time left to tuck the kids in at night?

When’s the time for Social Media

My experience has been that too much time can be consumed by trying to stay current with your social campaigns, it can even turn into an addiction. Let’s go through my day together to understand the time I focus on social networking with friends and potential clients.

1. I get up and check Twitter on my phone just to see what news is happening (just read the last 10 posts by other SEO friends). This takes me less than 1 minute, but I have spent an hour looking through tweets (what some call Twitter posts).
2. I check my Twitter around 1:00 pm because most people post at lunch. Taking the time out to update my blog or answer some questions in a forum takes about 30 minutes.
3. I spend another hour searching for new topics to post about.
4. Before bed I throw out some more updates on one of my social sites, and that’s my day.

Many people read RSS feeds, tweet, update Facebook, blog and then retweet. How do they do it? Well, I’m not really sure butI can tell you how you can save time. Have you ever heard of Ping.fm? It’s a great tool for connecting to all your social networks all in one place. You can send out a message using ping and it will populate your social sites with one simple click of the send button.

Ping is easy to use and self explanitory. Offering your friends and followers an update once a day will make it seem you are interested in your field and help you make some contacts that could help grow your business.

Go sign up for a Ping account and you can also see some new social networks which you may not have even known existed. Reach out in half the time and allow some more time for your family.

Now that you’re finished reading this post, comment or share it with a friend.
