this is just more evidence that the industry has moved away from pagerank.. that being said, you’d be surprised how commonly it is still used as a metric.. great post!

Interesting thoughts on WebRank. We have been building quality inbound links to client websites all along. I think where you will see the biggest impact is on sites that have inflated link popularity numbers due to excessive directory links and blog comments. Sites that have links coming from high quality, trusted sites will continue to rank well. This means that companies will have to focus more on creating quality content before they can expect to get any links Google would consider valuable.

This new WebRank is better according to SEO sites but I dont think it is good for big websites with huge traffic like social sites, news sites and others.
