Searching For Visitors – search engine marketing

Let’s say you own a pizza business and you’re new in the city and want to get the word out on the Internet that users can order your pizzas online and have them delivered without actually calling your business. Now search the word on any search engine and you will find millions of web sites about pizza.

I searched “pizza” on Google and got 158,000,000 results. Wow. How will you ever get noticed with those rankings?

seo_pizzaBut, I added one more keyword to the search phrase “pizza delivery” and I narrowed my search results down to 3,110,000. That still seems really high if you are ever going to be found by users in your city that are hungry for pizza.

Let’s add one more keyword to that search phrase. How about the city your pizza business is located in. I searched “pizza delivery Dallas”. I used Dallas because it’s a big city and is known in many other countries. After I clicked submit, Google returned 3,260 search results to me. As you can tell by now, we are narrowing down the search results every time we add a single word to the search phrase.

I went from 158,000,000 results down to just 3,260 results by adding only 2 extra keywords and still staying focused on my target audience, which is users close to Dallas that are looking for pizza delivery. This information will benefit you greatly because you can start to understand that it’s not all about getting your site listed number 1 on search engines for the keyword associated with your business but the way you manipulate the searches to show up more frequently.
