SeoWebHelp is now over 1 year old and has built up quite a robust following of fans. First off we want to thank you for your commitment. Thanks! When Ken handed the blog over to us it had a huge amount of incoming links pointing to it and a page rank of 5. Now after a little research using 2 tools out there, we discovered we have a page rank of 1. What happened? Are we being punished for something we don’t even know we did? It’s a good thing PR doesn’t make such a difference as it did back in the earlier days of seo. There were still some reasons it dropped and we needed to know why.

We really thought that the gray hat testing we did finally soured our rank. You know, like when you might test the limits of seo so you can write articles about the results.
Then we thought some of our incoming links could have dropped off or got banned causing our site to go down with them. After finishing our 25 point check to see what caused the deep decline we found our answer! Yes! We had two issues that needed to be resolved fast. There have been so many updates to the blog over the past 80 days that we lost some of the old page urls. Adding a 301 redirect to our .htaccess file would remedy that. Other one was, we removed all the meta tags, analytics and when the spider came to crawl our site threw too many errors both times. Our webmaster tools looks like an error farm. There were times when the bot crawled seowebhelp.com and found no site. That’s just a stupid move on our part. We can’t let that happen again.
Even professional SEO strategists make mistakes. Learn from our mistakes. Google has humbled us.

Yes, I do feel they are important especially for that reason. Why would you disagree to that?

Would you consider redirects important in general then? I feel sorry for you:(.
