100 Days of Twitter Tools #99 Twonvert

Today’s tool is Twonvert.

The number in the title has nothing to do with the number of how we determine the quality of the tool. These Twitter tools are just in order as we test them.

What it’s used for:
Converting your Twitter message to a smaller size (text message type) to save character space so you can fit more letters in your Twitter message.

Pros:
Loads fast.
Simple to use.
No sign-up required.
Results appear quickly.

Cons:
Had 1 word that should have been easy to convert (before), made 1 character longer.
It doesn’t use Twitter OAuth to grab your username and password.
Doesn’t let you copy the shorter message. You have to send it using their application.

Review:
There’s not much going on at the site. You go there and it’s self explanatory. No need to sign-up. Enter your message into the left box and almost instantaneously the shortened message appears. If you’re looking for a quick message shortening application, it works good.

Recommend:
Possibly. It would be better as an iPhone app then a separate site.

Message used in the tool was:
“Get an ad before anyone else at SeoWebHelp http://bit.ly/9GPOqc – 3 ads $40 and $25 USD First come, first served!” Original: 113 Characters
“Get an ad B4e ne1 else at SeoWebHelp http://bit.ly/9GPOqc – 3 ads $40 and $25 USD First come, first served!” Now: 105 Characters (8 Characters / 7.08% LESS!)
Not sure why it added an “e” on “B4e”, but it did.
